Stephanie McElroy, MFTC, is a Marriage and Family Therapy Candidate seeing patients at Paramount Health Directions in Denver, Colorado. She received her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Regis University in the Fall of 2022.
Stephanie has been working in the mental health field for five years and, since graduating, has been working with individuals seeking help for treatment-resistant depression with both traditional talk therapy and ketamine-assisted therapy techniques. She also has specific experience in working with depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, grief, and bipolar disorder.
Before becoming a therapist, Stephanie was an educator, which fostered her love of working with children. During her internship at Regis University, she was placed at an elementary school and facilitated play therapy for individuals and siblings. Throughout her education, Stephanie developed a keen interest in working with couples and desires to make this the main focus of her practice.
While finalizing becoming a fully licensed therapist, she will also be working toward a certification in sex therapy.
Stephanie utilizes a mixture of Emotion-Focused, Attachment-Based, Narrative, and Cognitive-Processing Therapy to support her clients’ unique experiences and goals. She is grounded in empathy, curiosity, and a deep belief in the capacity for change and growth. She strives to provide a safe and inclusive space where her clients can explore and process emotions, understand how past experiences shape their current perspective, identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and cultivate healthier habits of connection.
